Ron Kembel passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2001, at the age of 61.
Ron was born and raised in Montana, graduating in 1958 from Huntley Project High School. After his graduation he worked for Pepsi Cola, later going on to serve in the United States Army.
In February of 1967, he married Delores Shol. Together they had one daughter, Deborah Lynn.
He worked his way through life as a driver for Buckingham Trucking and as a steel construction foreman for Steel Structures and Hanson-Kelly. He retired in February of 2000.
Ron was an avid sportsman, mainly hunting and fishing. Although you could always find him at the race track with his horses, he was a man of many talents. His artistic abilities were prominent in the things he constructed, not only in his building but the creative projects and gifts he made for others. Always the jokester, his humor never failed. If Ron called you his friend, there’s nothing in the world he wouldn’t do for you.
In the last days of his life, he spent time enjoying his two grandchildren, Tyler and Kourtney. Ron will be missed dearly by all who knew him and will always be carried in all of our hearts.
Survivors include his wife, Delores; daughter, Deb Faw and husband, Marty; grandchildren, Tyler and Kourtney; sisters, Karen Dawson and Sandra Bacon and her husband; stepmother, Irene Kembel; stepsister, Phyllis Kostelecky; sisters-in-law, Lois Leon (Ray), Alice Norman, Marge Stephens, and Marilyn Dillon (Robert); aunts and uncles, Clarence Kembel, Carl and Helen Kembel, Raymond and Donna Kembel, Robert and Dora Propp, Elmer and Phyllis Kautz, and Delores Propp; his great-aunt and uncle, Bill and Marie Weber; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside services with military rites will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Mountview Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the American Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements. |
