KNOW all MEN by these Presents, that We Isaiah Shinn and Jeremiah Robey are held and firmly bound unto Wilson Cary Nicholas Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, for the time being, and his successors, to the use of the said Commonwealth, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars; to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our and each of our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seal and dated this 1st day of April 1816.
WHEREAS a marriage is suddenly intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound, Isaiah Shinn of full age and Nancy Roby daughter of said Jeremiah.
Now the condition of the above obligation is such, that if there be no lawful cause or just impediment, to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force.
