Obituary
Albert Martin Sorenson of Green River, Wyo., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 19, at St. John's Living Center in Jackson, Wyo.; he was 82.
Albert was born on July 14, 1925, in Billings, to Soren and Lena Sorenson. The family moved to Dillon, where they made their permanent home, eventually having eight more children.
Albert joined the U.S. Navy in February 1943, and served three years. He later joined the Montana Army National Guard in September 1949, and served until 1952.
He met Evelyn C. Jennings in Medford, Ore., and they were married on Jan. 20, 1947. They had two daughters, Carol Ann and Alberta Loraine. They eventually divorced, but remained lifelong friends.
Albert managed Hadock’s Food Fare and then Woolworth's Department Store in Rock Springs, Wyo., for many years before owning and operating White Mountain Ice in Green River, Wyo., until he sold the business in the late 1990s.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at the Dillon cemetery. |
