Searching the 1840 Census for a Harmon Cummins also revealed a record for Harman Cummins in Lincoln, Tennessee, assumed to be the same Harman Cummins in the 1850 census. Further research is needed to determine which Harmon Cummins is the correct descendant of Harmon Cummings and Mary James. Discovery thus far points to Harmon and Catherine Georgia census record.

First my son John Cummins I bequeath and give him the sum of one dollar. Second to my son Andrew Cummins I bequeath and give him the sum of one dollars. Third, my son-in-law William Jordan I bequeath and give him the sum of one dollar. Fourth, my son-in-law Henry Fobbus, Jesse Cummins, Lewis Cummins, Joel Cummins, William Cummins, Thomas Barnes and Lewis Wright I bequeath and give the balance of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided except a negro girl (Mary Ann). I give her to my wife Catharine the term of her natural life together with the benefit of my land where I now reside being situated in the county and state aforesaid known and described as follows (to wit) the East half of the SW quarter of section eleven Township six south of Range Eleven west also west half the south west quarter of section eleven in Township six south of range eleven west in all containing one hundred and sixty acres. But in case my wife Catharine should die before my youngest son William Cummins is twenty one years of age then the William Lewis and Joel aforesaid to have the benefit of the said negro girl and land until the said William Cummins is twenty one years of age after which Henry Fobbus, Jesse Cummins, Thomas Barnes and Lewis Wright aforsaid are to have an equal share the same to be his last will and testament and that each of us respectively subscribed our names thereto in the presence of said testator and in the presence of each ohter and at the request of said testator.
Sworn to subscribed before L.F. Fulbright as clerk of the Probate. W. T. Standfield Court of Jefferson county Ar. J.W. Plunket and as on the 16th day of April, A.D. 1860.
