Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Lindler, wife of Jacob Lindler, Esq of Edgefield Co SC departed this life 5 Nov 1889. Aged 82 years, seven months, and 18 days. She was the daughter of Thomas Boyd, Esq and was married in 1823., by which union she leaves behind an aged husband, six children, one of whom is the Rev QW Lindler, who has done long and faithful service in the Master’s cause, thirty eight grandchildren, seventy-five great-grand-childrena nd three great-great grand children, of which I am one, also a host of friends who mourn her departure.
The deceased united with the Evangelical Lutheran church in her 18th year, and embraced precious faith in Jesus. For many years she was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran church and during her long and eventful life she never lost sight of her Redeemer.
She exhibited in her life much of hte teaching of the 6th Psalm. She could say in the lanuage of holy, faith, “I know my Redeemer liveth.” After many months of severe affliction and much suffering she fell asleep in the arms of her Savior. Her body was laid to resdt in St. Mark’s cemetery, after the proper service by the writer of this notice, assisted by the Rev S.P.H. Elwell. She sleeps in Jesus and the apostle says, “If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also who sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.” C.P. Boozer.
